Showing 298 everyday verbs — more added regularly. The gold word is the present tense (يفعل), the form you use to say “I do it”. Where a root has other common measures, they are listed under “same root, other forms” — learn one, half-know the rest.
The highest-frequency everyday verbs include ذَهَبَ (to go), جاءَ (to come), أَرادَ (to want), أَحَبَّ (to love), عَرَفَ (to know), قالَ (to say), and فَعَلَ (to do). Learning a few hundred of these covers most daily speech.
“To love” is أَحَبَّ (aḥabba) in the past tense and يُحِبّ (yuḥibb) in the present. For example: أُحِبُّ عائِلَتي — “I love my family.”
Roughly 250–500 high-frequency verbs cover the vast majority of everyday conversation. Focus on the common ones first — the present tense (يفعل) is the form you use to say “I do it”.
Yes. Sign in (free) and every verb gets a tick box — mark one once you can recall it without looking, and it moves from “Still learning” to “Remembered”. A progress bar shows how much of the list you have covered, and your ticks are saved to your account, so you pick up on any device where you left off.
Arabic builds whole families of verbs from one three-letter root by putting it through different patterns (awzān). قَطَعَ is “to cut”; the same root gives قَطَّعَ (Form II, “to chop up”), قاطَعَ (Form III, “to boycott, to interrupt”) and اِنْقَطَعَ (Form VII, “to be cut off”). Where a root has other measures you will actually hear, they are listed under “same root, other forms” — so learning one verb gets you most of the way to three or four more.
Each verb shows the past tense (the base/dictionary form, e.g. ذَهَبَ “he went”) and the present tense in gold (يَذْهَب “he goes / is going”), which is the form you build “I / you / we do” from.
